Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Seoul, South Korea – BASF, a globally leading battery materials producer, and SK On, a globally leading electric vehicle battery cell manufacturer, have entered into an agreement to jointly evaluate collaboration opportunities in the global lithium-ion battery market focused on North America and Asia-Pacific. The collaboration brings together strong business and product development capabilities to develop industry-leading battery materials for lithium-ion batteries.

Dr. Daniel Schönfelder (47), Senior Vice President, Battery Base Metals & Recycling at BASF, will, as President, assume responsibility for the Catalysts division, based in Mannheim, Germany, effective January 1, 2024.

Each year, designers for BASF’s Coatings division create a new collection of colors to inspire automotive designers around the globe. This year, non-human intelligence was a strong driver for the creation of the ON VOLUDE collection from Automotive Color Trends by BASF for 2023-2024.
