PAG Base Stocks
At A Glance
Polyalkylene glycol base stocks, also known as polyglycols or PAGs, are formed by reacting an alcohol with one or more alkylene oxides. Depending on the molecular composition, they are either soluble or insoluble in water.
PAGs are used in many lubricant applications where their high thermal and oxidative stability, excellent lubricity, high film strength / load capacity, anti-wear properties, micropitting resistance and shear stability make them the ideal base stock choice.
