Our plant for highly reactive polyisobutene in Nanjing is operated within the joint venture between BASF and SINOPEC under the legal entity BASF-YPC Company Limited. The plant has a capacity of 50,000 metric tons per year. The produced HR-PIB grades serve as essential building blocks on the manufacture of fuel and lubricant additives.

Within their joint venture, BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn. Bhd., BASF and Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG) operate a world-scale production plant for highly reactive polyisobutene (HR-PIB) with a total annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons of HR-PIB. The plant is the first of its kind in South East Asia.
